Through unremitting effort by the scientists from the previous corrosion congresses, the 16th International Corrosion Congress, publicly recognized as the Olympiad of the corrosion community, will be held from September 19 to 24, 2005 in Beijing, China. Nearly some 2,000 participants consisting of experts of corrosion and protection, government functionaries, companies, designers and institutions of key projects from at home and abroad, as well as representatives of businesses, will get together in Beijing to exchange ideas and expertise and discuss the future cooperation and development. The 16th International Corrosion Congress is not only an academic gathering of top corrosion specialists from at home and abroad, but also offers a platform with an excellent opportunity for corrosion related enterprises and their counterparts worldwide to conduct business and cooperation. An unprecedented grand gathering of corrosion and protection community from all over the world, this congress has drawn great attention of the Chinese state leaders of various levels.
